Prologis and PragmaCharge to deliver EV heavy-truck charging hub next to Port of Valencia

VALENCIA, Spain, 11/06/2026 – Prologis and PragmaCharge today announced plans to deliver a dedicated electric heavy-truck charging hub at MercaValencia, next to the Port of Valencia, with capacity to charge up to 48 electric heavy-goods vehicles simultaneously once fully operational.

The new hub will support heavy-duty fleet electrification in one of Spain’s most strategically important logistics gateways, bringing new charging infrastructure to a location serving local, regional and long-distance freight routes.

Spanning 12,500 square metres, the hub is already under construction and will be developed in two phases. The first phase will include 14 high-power charging ports and is expected to be operational in Q3 2026. A second phase will then expand the facility to 48 charging ports, with full site completion targeted for Q1 2027.

The hub will combine dedicated charging space, a secured 4MW grid connection and PragmaCharge’s dynamic charging management software, enabling it to serve both dedicated fleet demand and wider public heavy-truck charging needs

The project brings together Prologis’ logistics real estate, development and energy infrastructure capabilities with PragmaCharge’s heavy-duty fleet electrification expertise and operating model. Prologis will develop and own the infrastructure, while PragmaCharge will lease and operate the hub as part of its Electric Truck-as-a-Service offering, which is already serving contracted customers in the region.

As electric truck adoption begins to scale across Europe, demand for well-located heavy-duty charging infrastructure is rising. According to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), electrically chargeable trucks above 3.5 tonnes accounted for 4.2% of the EU heavy- and medium-duty truck market in 2025, up from 2.3% in 2024 – almost doubling in one year.

This shift is increasing the need for charging infrastructure in the logistics markets where electric trucks are most likely to scale first. Early heavy-duty charging infrastructure is expected to be focused on depots and semi-public hubs near major industrial and logistics sites, where transport activity, land availability and grid access come together.
